I’m excited to announce our next writer in the Local Author Series, Judy Porter. She will be here to talk about her new book: Forty Love: Love means nothing to a tennis player
I’ve had the pleasure of spending time with her and she is a hoot. Judy will be reading an excerpt or two from her book as well as talking with us about her writing process and enchanting us with fun stories along the way.
We will have wine and light appetizers for this event. Feel free to invite your friends. This event is not restricted to book club members.

About the author
Judy Eckenrode Porter has been playing tennis since she was nine years old, and writing stories since she was seven!
Raised in Norwalk, Connecticut, she attended Brien McMahon High School where she was president of her class twice and Cheerleading captain, while writing for the school newspaper and working on the Yearbook committee.
She graduated Magna Cum Laude from West Virginia University where she served in the Student Government and was a Chi Omega sorority sister. She moved to Dallas and continued her education earning a Master's in Theology from the University of Dallas, and then returned to the UD campus for an MBA.
Her father taught her the sport of tennis, and after 20 years as a high school teacher and Tennis coach, she now captains a co-ed team in the Tennis Competitors of Dallas (TCD) league where 8,000 players compete throughout the year. She is a cheerful advocate for the sport of tennis, pointing out that the average tennis player lives 9.7 years longer than non-tennis players. Many of her former student athletes have joined her on the courts as both teammates and opponents. She continues to believe in the best part of tennis; it provides exercise, fresh air, sunshine, laughter, and friendship.
"Forty Love" is her first novel and she is currently working on the sequel.
