We are honored and thrilled to welcome Carl Moberg, National Sales Manager, to tell the story of Louis/Dressner through a selection of some of their now iconic winemakers, heralding from the Loire, to the Mosel, to Sicily, with wines that are traditional or inventive, yet all tell the story of love for the places they are from shared through wines that are alive and singing.
Louis/Dressner was founded in the late 1980s by Denyse Louis, an native Burgundian, and her husband Joe Dressner. The two met as students in New York, and on their visits to Denyse’s home in France recognized an enthralling magical aliveness in certain wines made with organic farming and without additives/manipulation in the cellar. (The vast majority of wines were–and are–made with chemical farming, machine harvesting, and commercial yeasts to start fermentation.)
Working on a dream with little experience, they became the first importer to focus on bringing these “real wines” to America, and now over thirty years later are considered the godfathers of the current natural wine movement.
For this dinner, Chef Ryan and his team will be presenting 5 expertly paired courses with the wines. Special pricing for the wines will be available the night of the event only, courtesy of our neighbor Bernie’s Wines & Liquors.
Tickets are $125 per person plus tax and tip. Cheese social starts at 6pm, with dinner starting at 6:30.
