Hobbs Observatory Astronomical Series

Monthly 45-60 minute presentation on an astronomical subject. This month's topic: Cosmic Discoveries of Vera Rubin. Presenter: CVAS member and retired UWEC Professor of Astronomy Dr Lauren Likkel.

The Vera Rubin Observatory has been online for less than two months, but it has already yielded some amazing results. This talk will introduce you to the new observatory, as well as the astronomer after whom it was named, and the mysterious dark matter that she studied.
The topic is appropriate for anyone over 12!

If the skies are clear, the telescopes in the domes will be available for viewing following the program (until 11pm).
