Forest Kindergarten & Wild Passport Training β Funded Places Available
Thanks to support from EDF Renewables Burnhead Moss Education & Training (BMET) Fund, weβre excited to offer 5 fully funded places on our Forest Kindergarten and Wild Passport training. This is the first of two accredited training cohorts, with the second running in January 2026.
Both courses are accredited and will equip you with the skills and confidence to lead outdoor learning sessions. Optional monthly online support sessions will be available to help you complete your portfolio. No prior experience or qualifications are required.
The training is a combination of practical and written work, delivered outdoors at our woodland site in Slamannan. NB. The training will be held outdoors, and we will aim to go ahead as long as it is safe to do so. Where we need to cancel due to adverse weather/other factors, we will email/text as soon as we can, this may be up to 1 hour before the event begins.
Please do not book on unless you can commit to the 5 compulsory training days. Refunds will not be given within 7 days of the event starting, but we will work with you to reschedule you to another training date where possible (within 1 year of the initial training date). Funded places are limited!
For this training, we cannot split the courses into two i.e only attend for the Forest Kindergarten training, this is due to our funding agreement. If you are only interested in doing one of the course please email us and we will add you to a list, and keep you updated on upcoming courses.

About the Training
Forest Kindergarten (SCQF Level 7)
Forest Kindergarten follows a Forest School-style approach for Early Years, encouraging child-led, play-based learning in natural settings, regardless of the weather. Developed by Scottish Forestry, the programme helps connect children, educators, and families to the outdoors through regular woodland sessions. The course focuses on three key elements: people, place, and activities.
Wild Passport (ITC Level 3)
The WILD Passport is a five-year outdoor learning curriculum and progression framework, covering 125 learning outcomes across five competencies. It provides a structured way to develop, track, and evidence skills in woodland-based learning, from beginner to advanced levels. The WILD Passport can be used as a standalone programme or to enhance existing Forest School or outdoor learning models.
