What is a showcase?
A Showcase is used to assess each registered athlete for their skill level in fielding and hitting with other athletes in their age division. This enables us to offer a fair and competitive season by age division by distributing talent by skill level across all teams. Each athlete will be given an opportunity to hit 5 pitches, field ground balls or pop flies, and run around the bases. Projected coaches for the age divisions assess each athlete and use their assessment to select athletes in the team draft.
Do we need to bring anything to the Showcase?
All athletes should bring a broken-in glove, a bat, and a batter’s helmet. Cleats are preferred, but turf shoes or athletic shoes are appropriate. Athletes can wear a baseball uniform or athletic wear based on the projected weather.
If an athlete cannot attend the showcase, how will that impact their selection in the draft?
If an athlete cannot attend the showcase, their registration number will be saved to the last part of the draft to have the coaches select the remaining athletes in their draft order.
