Join Stacy for the very first Cook, Share & Care session on Monday, September 15, from 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM.
This program is designed for adults with an IDD who have aged out of the public school system.
During each session, participants will prepare meals for local charities and then enjoy sharing one together. On September 15, we’ll be making Chicken, Broccoli, and Cheese Casseroles, two of which will be donated to Second Story, a Vienna-based nonprofit that provides safe havens and opportunities for local youth and families in need.
Stacy brings years of experience as the former Program Director at the Down Syndrome Association of Northern Virginia, where she created the DSANV Cooking Club. She uses adapted tools and strategies—including easy-to-follow pictorial recipes, cut-proof knives, and electric skillets—to ensure the cooking process is safe, fun, and accessible for everyone.
At the end of class, we’ll sit down together to enjoy one of the casseroles for lunch. The remaining casseroles will be delivered to Second Story, allowing participants to experience both the joy of cooking and the impact of giving back to their community. Link to register:
