Chokecherry Chopdown Fall Edition

Learn how to identify and get rid of invasive chokecherry trees at Alaska Division of Natural Resources (DNR) on Wednesday, September 4th from 4-6p! Fairbanks Soil and Water Conservation District (FSWCD), the Northern Alaska Cooperative Invasive Species Management Area (NA-CISMA), UAF Cooperative Extension Service, and DNR will be hosting this event. We will meet at the DNR office parking lot (3700 Airport Way) and then follow a guided trail, learning how to identify chokecherry, and watching demonstrations on the use of manual tools and chemical treatment methods to get rid of chokecherries. This will also be an opportunity for you to join the Fairbanks Chokecherry Challenge, a bioblitz project aimed to document as many chokecherry trees as possible in interior Alaska (more information here: https://fswcd-weeds.squarespace.com/fairbanks-chokecherry...).
