Jackson County Underground

Do you want to try caving but aren't sure where to start? Then mark your calendar for Saturday August 16, 2025 for Jackson County Underground. Held at our Tumbling Rock Cave Preserve in Jackson County Alabama, this free event is for participants 11 years of age and older who want to experience a wild cave. Our volunteers will be stationed throughout the cave to provide information on some of the notable geologic and historic features.

Huntsville Grotto from the National Speleological Society will be on site to answer your caving questions, and Inner Mountain Outfitters will be selling all the gear you need to start your underground adventures.

Concessions will be available for sale.
