Born in South America and raised in Sweden, Annika Skoogh is a highly versatile and celebrated multilingual jazz vocalist with a natural talent, who is based in Exeter and brings a special blend of Scandinavian charm and Latin flavour to her performances.
She leads several ensembles with many sold out performances under her belt and over the years, she has played at some of the biggest UK jazz festivals.
Annika plays with some of the very best musicians here in the South West and will be joined by special guest Steve Buckley - alto sax and her regular quartet members; Tom Ball – pianist, Kevin Sanders – double bass and Gary Evans – drums. Together they’ll treat you to an eclectic mix of songs, some of Annika’s absolute favourite jazz standards, Latin, Nordic Jazz and contemporary tunes. Expect to hear some original songs and songs by Joni Mitchell, Stevie Wonder, Paul Simon, Wayne Shorter, Antonio Carlos Jobim, Miles Davies, Hoagy Carmichael, and James Taylor, to name but a few.
You might have seen Annika at St Matthew’s Hall before as she also runs a Swedish micro bakery and regularly has her Fika stall at the hall.
