Live readings, a short film premiere, curated art. Slipstream will show & explore experiential pieces of storytelling from The Lit Issue 7.
Join us for an evening of storytelling in all its forms. Slipstream will highlight multimedia pieces published in The Lit Issue Seven, exploring multimedia storytelling, elemental themes and cross-disciplinary creativity — from immersive audio and poetic data visualisation to speculative design fiction and sensory memoir.
Join The Literary Platform editorial team and contributors from 5.30-7pm for welcome drinks and a live introduction from the issue editors, followed by a premiere of the Slipstream film, a hydrofeminist short exploring rivers and bodies of water, produced by filmmaker and researcher Polly Card.
On display around the venue will be original paintings and drawings from the issue created by Dr Yandi Wang, exploring a sensory narrative of childhood in 1970s–80s Beijing.
The event is Pay What You Can - a donation covers venue hire, drinks and organisers time. With thanks to the Faculties of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences at the University of Exeter for funding support.
