From script to screen

In this workshop, 9-12 year olds will explore what goes on behind the scenes to make a film by thinking about how choices in costumes, sets, props, and publicity bring a script to life on the screen.

You will learn about creative approaches in filmmaking by finding out about some of the women who have worked in the film industry, and explore objects created by them in the collection of the Bill Douglas Cinema Museum, at the University of Exeter (Streatham Campus).

Hands on activities will include deciding how to direct a scene, drawing make up design, planning a set, selecting props or costumes and creating a poster for the film. This is a participatory event with plenty of opportunity to tap into your creative side (and see some cool things not usually on display!)

This workshop is for children aged 9-12, accompanied by an adult.

PLease arrive promptly for the 11am start.
