An Elderberry Evening: Exploring Kaweah Oaks After Hours

Join us for a unique summer evening at Kaweah Oaks Preserve! This event combines hands-on elderberry harvesting with a chance to experience the preserve after dark—whether you're up for a peaceful night hike or curious to explore the world of nocturnal insects.

6:00–7:15 PM – Elderberry Harvest

Enjoy a guided harvest of ripe elderberries! Learn about the plant’s uses, importance, and how to gather responsibly. You'll go home with a jar full of berries and a recipe or two! For safety and best light, harvesting will wrap up by 7:15.

7:15–9:00 PM – Evening Exploration

After the harvest, choose your own adventure: Take a guided night hike through the preserve trails or stay close to observe and learn about nocturnal bugs that come to life after sunset.

👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 Family-friendly! Children are welcome and must also be registered. Evening activities are designed to be engaging for all ages.
