Meeting focus: " "The Critique BLT."
We will discuss how to give and take critique in a helpful manner, as well as why critiques are important for writers.
.
You do not need to bring anything to critique. This will be more of a discussion and preparation for September, when we will put our critiquing skills to the test with willing volunteers.
.
We have an ongoing (optional) challenge right now to write a 500-word-or-less children's book, which we would love to hear at our August or September meetings. If you would like to participate, contact me for more info. If you participate, you do not need to share the story in the meeting unless you want to.
.
As always,
Please try to arrive by 6pm.
.
Feel free to bring any of your work to share if we have time. If you want feedback, bring copies to pass around.
.
The library asks that we refrain from bringing in any foods or drinks that are not pre-packaged or commercially prepared (i.e. no homemade cookies, but a box of Oreos would be fine to share). We want to be welcome back, so please be considerate of this.
.
We will meet in the community room where we can laugh and talk freely. It's quite a cozy library. This meeting is open to anyone and everyone who loves to write, so feel free to invite your friends who need a writing community.
.
If you have any questions, reach out to Alyssa.
.
Hope to see you there!
