Discover the art of transforming a block of wax into a one-of-a-kind pendant—designed and carved by you. In this hands-on workshop, you’ll learn foundational skills to create an original wax tablet pendant that will later be cast in metal.
The class combines group demonstrations with one-on-one instruction. All tools and materials are provided—just show up with your ideas, and let the magic happen!
You’ll be guided through techniques including sketching, shaping, filing, and texturing, and will learn how to carve your pendant from wax. Demonstrations will cover carving with hand tools, sculpting with heated tools, and working with various types of wax to add a bale for chain and bringing your vision to life.
Choose from a few foundational shapes to customize and build on:
Rounded Tablet
Oval or Organic Forms
Rectangular or Shield Shapes
After the workshop, Dante will cast your pendant in her studio and give it a professional polish. You can pick up your finished piece at CAE or choose to have it shipped directly to your home.
The design possibilities are wide open—whether you’re a total beginner or have some experience, you’ll leave with a sculpted wax pendant that’s uniquely yours.
Workshop fee includes a professionally cast pendant in brass. Students may choose to cast in sterling silver or 14K gold for an additional materials fee (based on the wax weight of the final piece), payable directly to the instructor before receiving the finished piece.
