I often think about how powerful it is to connect with the roots of Ballroom. To understand where we’re headed, we must honor those who came before us and reflect on the paths they paved. Join me as we journey through the legacy of Ballroom, celebrating its history, its current brilliance, and the visions we have for its future. Together, let’s honor the past, embrace the present, and shape the future.
GRAND PRIZE #1 $1500
— TEAM PERFORMANCE: “ANIMATION DOMINATION”
1 Legend/Icon, 1 Statement (4+ years), 1 Star (3 years or less)
It’s giving storyline, synergy, and full-on animation fantasy. We want to see y’all turn Nostalgia into a living, breathing comic book or cartoon moment. This is about stepping into character and taking us on a journey — battle scene, transformation, mission, whatever your storyline is.
Bring a team of 3:
• 1 Legend or Icon of Performance to set the tone
• 1 Statement (4+ years) to keep the energy alive
• 1 Star (3 years or less) to seal the deal and make us gag
All three must represent different characters from the same cartoon or comic universe. No random mash-ups or generic costumes — this is a full in-character production.
Example: Storm, Jean Grey, and Wolverine from X-Men? Yes.
Batman, Sailor Moon, and Goku? No ma’am.

We don’t just want looks, we want a whole moment. Your team of 3 is giving a synchronized runway presentation that’s clean, cohesive, and gag-worthy from start to finish. Think theatrical, fashion-forward, and fully in sync.
Twist: All three must be fully covered head to toe. No face, no hints, just pure silhouette and movement.
Team breakdown:
• 1 Legend or Icon of Runway to bring the power
• 1 Statement (4+ years) to push the edge
• 1 Star (3 years or less) to bring that new school heat
Your runway story must be unified and clear — think villainous bridesmaids, couture androids, high fashion fugitives, etc. You don’t have to match exactly, but it needs to read as one vision. Walk in sync for your 10s — you’re not just walking together, you’re performing as one.

Lights, camera, action! Tonight it’s all about TV, movies, or music video realness. You and your team are coming as a recognizable trio — sitcom, film, or music group — and giving full character illusion.
From Destiny’s Child to TLC, 3LW, That’s So Raven, Sex and the City, Charlie’s Angels, Black-ish, Dreamgirls — we want to see it all. We want the chemistry, the story, the vibe.
Team breakdown:
• 1 Legend or Icon of Realness to anchor it
• 1 Statement (4+ years) to hold the presence
• 1 Star (3 years or less) to complete the illusion
You must fully embody your chosen trio — aesthetic, time period, group dynamic, all of it. Not just looking the part, but acting like you stepped right off set and into the ball.

• Martin, Gina & Pam from Martin giving friend group antics
