Jeff Morrison & AW2.0 Guided Walking tour of Downtown/Underground/Gulch

Is Underground Atlanta really underground? Are there still trains beneath the streets of Atlanta? How did Atlanta come to be where it is? This unique walking tour explores the forgotten spaces beneath the viaducts that span the railroads in the heart of downtown. We will follow the development of the city around the railroad junction, from the original zero milepost marker to the complex network of elevated streets.

Join Jeff Morrison & AW2.0 for a Guided Walking tour of Atlanta's hidden gems and rich history of Atlanta's railroad gulch, combining history and urban exploring. Discover the stories behind the streets and buildings as we take you on a journey through time. This is a unique opportunity to see the city from a new perspective and learn something new along the way. The tour is free and covers about two miles and several flights of stairs. Jeff Morrison is a practicing architect with a Masters of Architecture degree from Tulane University. He has lived in the historic neighborhoods of Atlanta since 1996. He has taught design studios at the Kennesaw State University School of Architecture, and built a sculptural installation for the inaugural Art on the Beltline. His architectural projects span a range of building types, usually in civic or educational settings, and tend to be inspired by contextualism, materiality, and creating a sense of place. Alongside his father, he has been riding, photographing, and occasionally operating steam trains his whole life.
