Intro to Kink

Curious about kink but not sure where to start? Join SBC for an introductory workshop on kink exploration! In this discussion-based class with roosiieebee, we will cover the journey into kink, how to keep yourself safe as you venture outside your comfort zone, and commonly used vocabulary. We will also discuss setting expectations for yourself and others and simple rules of thumb to follow.

This workshop is designed for those new to kink, whether you're brand-spanking-new (pun intended), stepping outside the bedroom and into the community for the first time, or venturing into different areas of kink. We encourage participants to come to this class with an open mind and connect with others at similar stages in their kink journey. Please note - Yoga mats will be available for rent at the venue for $3. Free blankets and yoga bolsters will be available for class use.

• The venue is a 2 minute walk from Watertown Square, accessible via the 70 and 71 busses. The venue is a 7 minute walk from Watertown Yard, accessible by the 52, 57, and 504 busses.
• Ample metered parking is available in a lot across the street. Metered parking is enforced until 7:00pm (not enforced on Sundays). There is additional metered street parking in front of the venue.

This is a discussion-based event. We recommend wearing clothes that are comfortable to sit and relax in. No nudity is permitted at this event.

Payments will be processed through Eventbrite with sliding scale pricing. All tickets provide the same entry (1 person per ticket) to the event. Pricing is access-based, not "pay what you want". If you benefit from systemic privilege, please consider paying more.

We are able to issue refunds, upon request, if we are able to fill your spot at the event. We will also consider issuing refunds in cases with extenuating circumstances. We are always happy to accept unused tickets as donations. If you are unable to attend due to event details that are publicly available (such as venue details, transportation, waiver requirement, or vetting requirements), we do not consider this an extenuating circumstance and reserve the right to adhere to our refund policy.

Please review our Code of Conduct before arriving at the class. A consent workshop will take place at the beginning of class. If you have not attended SBC's consent workshop previously, you MUST be present for the consent workshop portion of the class. All attendees will be required to sign a waiver and our code of conduct before taking part in any SBC class or event.

Attendees of all events are encouraged to be fully vaccinated and boosted. We also encourage folks to practice regular at home testing before events to ensure you are COVID negative. Attendees are required to STAY HOME from any event, and notify organizers of their absence, if they are feeling at all ill.

Roosiieebee (Rosie, she/her) is a switchy polyamorous pansexual who first tied someone up over 10 years ago. She enjoys bringing her chaotic energy to rope scenes whether she’s tying or being tied. A born and bred New Englander, she’s Boston based and part of SMart Boston Collab, and loves spending time doing kinky, witchy, Jewish shit. She’s passionate about exploring inclusivity in rope, particularly representation of fat folks and bodies of all different abilities.
