Decolonizing Grief: A communal space for collective grief
Welcome to our event where we come together to honor our shared experiences of loss saddness, and grief. This gathering is a safe and supportive space for individuals to explore their emotions and connect with others who understand. Through storytelling, vocalization, art, somatic movement exercises and conversation, we aim to dismantle the colonial structures that often dictate how we express and process our grief.
Grief is not a problem to solve. It's a sacred process—one we were never meant to do alone.
Join us for Decolonizing Grief, a transformational, in-person grief workshop rooted in somatic practice, ancestral connection, and communal healing. In this sacred space, we will make room for the full expression of grief—without shame, without apology.
This is not a talk or a therapy session. It is a return to ancient ways of grieving, held in a space that honors the body, the ancestors, and the spirit.
Together we will explore:
Space is limited. If your body feels the pull—trust it.
Info: "Our collective energy will create space for collective healing. We are not meant to be alone! " kaya spicer~. This workshop is led by Duewa " Kaya" Spicer, LCSW-S, CST—a phenomenal healer, therapist, and space holder who weaves somatic wisdom, ancestral reverence, and decolonial frameworks into everything she touches. With deep roots in community healing, Duewa creates spaces where grief is not pathologized—but honored, expressed, and transformed.
Her approach is raw, ritualized, and rooted in Black, Brown, and Indigenous traditions of collective mourning and remembering.
If you’ve been craving a space where your grief can wail, rage, or rest—you’re in the right place.
