Morning Coastal Walk, Rhue near Ullapool

This is a coastal Walk for National Whale and Dolphin Watching Week at Rhue near Ullapool
A special headland north of Ullapool and a walk along its coast is on the cards today. We will be looking and watching as we go in case of any whales or dolphins in the water.
Otters, or at least their signs, frequent this area and we will have a general look at coastal wildlife and landscape in the area as well.
Distance is approximately 3km for this circular walk. Most of the walk is on narrow sheep track on undulating ground. There is an optional extra leg of the walk to go up a small hill (105 metres high) as part of the circuit.

A note about the terrain and consent if you are bringing under 18s.

This event is categorised as a hill walking experience which means at times you may be off the path or on rough terrain. Therefore, you will need to be suitably prepared with good walking shoes, and suitable clothing and equipment for wet weather and sunny weather. A reasonable level of fitness will be required.

It will be led by a Ranger with an up-to-date Hill and Moorland Leader and first aid qualification and many years’ experience. When booking you will need to provide medical information that might be relevant to this activity, an emergency name and contact of someone not on the same activity and parent/guardian consent if you have someone with you under 18 years old
