🌕✨ Return of the Sturgeon Moon: A Star Party + Outdoor Movie Night
🗓 Friday, August 8 | ⏰ 9 PM
📍 Evansville Museum Front Lawn | 🎟 FREE Event
Join us under the glow of the Sturgeon Moon for an evening of stargazing, sci-fi, and summer fun! 🌠
🔭 In partnership with the Evansville Astronomical Society, we’ll have telescopes set up for incredible views of the full moon over the river — and plenty of astronomical insight to share.
🎬 Then stick around for a so-bad-it’s-good cult classic:
“Plan 9 from Outer Space” (1957) 👽
Aliens! Flying saucers! Hollywood zombies! Often called “the worst movie ever made,” this bizarre gem is guaranteed to entertain under the stars.
Why "Sturgeon Moon"? 🐟
This moon gets its name from the once-plentiful lake sturgeon of the Great Lakes region, traditionally caught in late summer by Native Americans. While the fish are rarer today, the lore lives on.
Bring a blanket or chair, some snacks, and your sense of adventure. 🌌
