Why "Sturgeon Moon"? π
This moon gets its name from the once-plentiful lake sturgeon of the Great Lakes region, traditionally caught in late summer by Native Americans. While the fish are rarer today, the lore lives on.
Bring a blanket or chair, some snacks, and your sense of adventure. π
