The Uncle John’s Dirty Ride is being re-imagined and will evolve into the Uncle John’s Gravel Race starting this year. Two of our highest priorities this year center around improving racer safety and making the event an EXPERIENCE, not just another race. If you enjoyed this year’s revamped Melting Mann or past Dirty Donut races, you’re going to love this year’s UJGR! Racer safety is being addressed in several ways, including course re-routes, wave start times, and improving entrances and exits. The race will still take place on Sunday, but the whole experience will begin the day before at the Uncle John’s Cider Mill
Saturday, September 6 opens the weekend full of fun.
7am - FREE RV and tent camping load-in begins and runs all day.
9am - The Cider Mill opens, and our friends from Gourdy’s Pumpkin Run will host a 5k run on the property starting at 9am.
2pm - leisurely-paced group ride.
4pm to 8pm - pre-packet pickup party at the Uncle John’s Hard Cider Taproom. A live band will be playing, food trucks will be on hand, and there will be several other things to do and explore for the entire family.
After 8pm, we will head back to the camping area. Some may choose to rest up, while others may choose to “socialize” later into the night with campfires, conversation, and probably some of those Uncle John’s Hard Ciders.
Sunday, September 7 is race day. Race distances are changing slightly, and our start and finishes for each race will look a bit different as we look to prioritize safety. Start times are changing so that shorter distances will start well after the longer races. Although there are many good reasons for this, it will SIGNIFICANTLY lower the wait time for the awards ceremony after you finish, and provide a better experience for everyone. For the first time, our overall male and female winners will take home an Uncle John’s Champion’s Jersey, and everyone who finishes will earn an Uncle John’s finisher's medal.
Registration opens on Sunday, April 13th.
Our website www.unclejohnsgravelrace.com is currently under construction, and once completed, will have an all-new look, be full of information, and will include the schedule, as well as maps of the planned course changes.
Registration will follow a progressive pricing model beginning at $75 and increasing $5 for every 250 people registered. The longer you wait the more you pay, so registering early is encouraged.

Each year it takes a bunch of volunteers assist with the race. We couldn't do it without them. We have 2 different ways to get a free race entry for volunteering! There are not many openings, so if you want in, don't delay.
1. Volunteer the day before or after the race: If you want to race and can help us on either of those days, sign up as a volunteer. When you sign up, you’ll be asked for your participant's name — enter your own name and which of our three races you want a free entry for. Once you're registered as a volunteer, we will email you a free entry code for that race, or if you’re already registered, we’ll send you a refund.
2. Have someone volunteer for you: If you have someone who can volunteer for any of the available positions, they’ll receive a free lunch and a race shirt for volunteering, and you’ll get a free race entry. When they register as a volunteer, they’ll be asked for your participant's name. Have them enter your name. After they register, we’ll email the volunteer a free entry code for you to enter the race, or if you’re already registered, we’ll send you a refund.
