The Eureka Public Library District administration, staff, and Board of Trustees launched their 2026 – 2029 strategic planning process this past November. The strategic planning process helps identify needs, set priorities, and guide staff and Board members as they make decisions and plans. The next step in the process is gathering additional feedback through small group meetings.
This February, the library will be hosting three community focus group meetings to discuss participants’ aspirations for the library in the coming three years and beyond. All are welcome to attend one of the meetings.
Participants will work together through a series of prompts to discuss library accessibility, operations, materials, and programs. The goal is to gather more information on what the community would like to see the library accomplish in the next three years and beyond.
Feedback from the focus group meetings will be added to data gathered from the community survey, which was distributed in November. The library had an amazing response from the community with 182 surveys completed. Once all the data is compiled, the Board of Trustees and staff will consider options for future focus and create the strategic plan document.
