Swiftwater Rescue Two-Day Course

The course covers essential skills for recreational users. Topics include accident prevention, technical rescues, and scene management. Emphasis is on personal safety and practical techniques. You'll practice handling hazards like entrapments, knots/ropes and participate in scenarios to hone your skills individually and as part of a team. No previous rescue experience required, but a good attitude is essential and comfort swimming and/or boating is a definite plus. Registration is $250 on the Oregon Paddle Sports website. Taught by Callay Boire-Shedd, ACA Level 4 Swiftwater Rescue Instructor.
