OR LEGISLATIVE UPDATE WITH HERSHNER HUNTER
The 2025 Oregon legislature has adjourned, and employers face a broad range of new laws. During this session, Amanda Walkup and Elizabeth Stubbs, employment law attorneys with the law firm Hershner Hunter, will discuss new state laws, as well as best practices for compliance. Recent court opinions and trending legal issues will also be discussed.
Heavy apps and beverages will be served.

Amanda Walkup
Amanda has years of experience providing practical advice to employers of all sizes. She has assisted clients with issues related to employment policies, workplace harassment and discrimination, discipline and termination, and conflict management.
Amanda also advises employers on how to navigate state and federal medical and other leave laws. She represents employers in state and federal court, in mediations and arbitrations, and before administrative agencies, including the Bureau of Labor and Industries and the EEOC.
Amanda works with both non-union and union employers and those in both the public and private sector. She regularly provides trainings to employers and employees on various topics, such as workplace harassment and respectful workplace. Amanda previously worked in the human resources department of one of the area’s largest employers. This experience allows her to provide legal advice with an understanding of the practical realities of the workplace.
In her spare time, Amanda enjoys running, working on home improvement projects, and spending time with family. Amanda is also involved in local non-profits and has served on state and local boards of directors.
Elizabeth Stubbs
Elizabeth is a litigator who works with clients to resolve their complicated business and employment issues and disputes. Prior to joining Hershner Hunter in 2021, Elizabeth worked as a litigator at a prominent firm in Salt Lake City, Utah. Elizabeth’s recent work includes providing practical advice to employers of all sizes and representing employers in court, arbitrations, mediations, and before administrative agencies.
Elizabeth earned her law degree from the University of Oregon School of Law, graduating in the top ten percent of her class. While in law school, Elizabeth externed for the Honorable Mustafa T. Kasubhai, United States Magistrate Judge for the District of Oregon.
Outside of practicing law, Elizabeth enjoys gardening, doing home improvement projects, trying out new recipes, spinning, and spending time with her partner and puppy.
