"With two decades in strategic communications, I’ve built a career around smart strategy and creative problem-solving.
By day, I’m a professor at the University of Oregon’s School of Journalism and Communication—where I’ve spent 20+ years helping students and pros alike navigate the ever-changing landscape of media, messaging, and meaning. I stay close to the latest research and trends because I’m always asking: What’s next? And more importantly, what works?
I’m also the founder and managing director of Verve Northwest Communications. At Verve, we specialize in digital strategy, media relations, crisis comms, and community engagement. Whether I’m helping a nonprofit find its voice, training a leadership team to handle tough questions, or mapping out a campaign from scratch—I love the challenge of turning complexity into clarity.
At the core of everything I do? A belief that communication, done well, can move mountains. I’m here to build relationships, tell stories that stick, and create real results—while always learning, always evolving."
