Cecilia Zabala is guitarist, composer, singer and singer-songwriter. She combines the interpretation and creation of music, with guitar and voice, throughout her entire career, mixing sensitivity, expression, technique and intuition. In her music, styles as different as Argentine folklore, contemporary language, jazz, tango, and Brazilian music intersect.

She was the winner of the First National Prize for the Arts 2018 awarded by the Ministry of Culture of Argentina in the "Jazz and Melodic" category.

After twenty five years of career, she has released eleven independent albums, one single and one EP published in Argentina Germany and the United States.

She has been touring internationally for more than fifteen years, teaching Master Classes and presenting her work at Festivals, Concert Halls and Art Markets in Europe, North America and Latin America.

She shared the stage with prominent artists from the local and international scene, such as Juan Falú, Teresa Parodi, Quique Sinesi, Pierre Bensusan, Benjamin Verdery, Silvia Iriondo, Miguel Cantilo, Javier Ruibal, Liliana Herrero, Raúl Carnota, Yusa, Daniel Maza, Leo Masliah, Luis Pescetti, Diego Rolón, Lula Bertoldi and Carolina Peleritti between others.

In her album “Fronteras” (in duet with Philippe Baden Powell), the prominent cellist and arranger Jaques Morelenbaum featured as special guest.

She did different compositional collaborations throughout her career, such as the songs composed with Gabo Ferro, Adrián Abonizio, Pierre Bensusan, Luiz Simas, Juan Falú, Javier Ruibal, Miguel Cantilo, Yusa, Sandra Rehder and Quique SInesi (the latter works will be part of her next album).

Since 2020 and in response to the isolation caused by the Pandemic, Cecilia has developed an intense musical and teaching role through her Youtube Channel. Cooking songs is a space made up of arrangements of songs from a popular music repertoire that goes beyond Argentine folklore and tango, including versions of Argentine rock and international music. In Disassembling the arrangement she shares video tutorials where she shows her work on her original songs.

As an Arranger and Guitarist she participated in the feminist songbook Rebenque en Flor (2022 and 2023)

She is currently carrying out several projects in addition to his solo work:

“"Hemispheres" with the singer and poet Sandra Rehder
“"Women of World" with Timna Comedi
“Trenza de cuerdas” together with maestro Osvaldo Burucuá

In addition, she is recording Sagrado Rito, her new album made up entirely of original repertoire, in collaboration with some of the artists mentioned above (which will be released in 2024) and developing the Connecting Universes project, where she interviews prestigious artists in her Instagram channel.
