Join us for a full-day creative immersion into the world of mixed media art. This workshop explores how to combine a variety of materials and techniques — from painting and collage to stencilling and texturing — to create unique, layered artworks. You’ll learn how to build depth, balance colour and composition, and use found and traditional materials to tell a story. This workshop is perfect for beginners and experienced makers alike, and you will take home a finished artwork ready to display.🎨
MATERIALS LIST: Provided (or available to share):
Acrylic paints (basic colours)
Gesso, matte medium, gel medium
Texture tools (palette knives, old credit cards, sponges)
Stencils & stamps
Brushes of various sizes
Adhesives (PVA glue, Mod Podge, glue sticks)
Inks, markers, and pastels
PARTICIPANTS TO BRING (Optional):
Mixed media canvas board no larger than A3. Stretched canvas is acceptable but Canvas Board is preferable
Collage papers, tissue paper, magazine clippings, napkins/serviettes
Paints, inks, pastels if you have them
Palette for paints
A sketchbook or notebook for ideas
Personal brushes or tools if preferred
Acrylic Paints - bring what they have
Cloths
Kitchen Sponge
Gloss medium varnish - Liquitex, Matisse etc if you have them
