Have you ever considered what happens to food you throw away? Did you know anything that was once living can be transformed into soil that grows new life? Or that if global food waste were a country, it would be the third-largest emitter of greenhouse gasses in the world?
Learning how to better manage our waste is a vital skill that benefits our health, our pockets and our planet in a big way. Composting isn’t an exact science. And it’s not as tricky or smelly or disgusting as you might think. This workshop is designed to sow seeds of passion in others through our enthusiasm for composting.
We’ll teach you how to:
⁃ Remedy your existing home-compost system
⁃ Start a new compost system
⁃ Help you choose the right compost system for your lifestyle
⁃ Help you recognise problems early
⁃ Troubleshoot issues with your compost
⁃ Surprising things you can and can’t put in your compost
Come experience hands-on learning with real materials on our serene permaculture property in Killcare Heights. We’ll show you the materials and the process you need to know and actually do it together. This workshop caters to beginner/intermediate level. We’ll cover all the basics as well as some more specific info.
