Mountain Bike Clinic: Intermediate Bike Skills

If you're a beginner looking to find a base to move your riding to the next level, we have a clinic for you. Our BICP-certified instructors will give you expert guidance in more advanced techniques. Up your skills in: climbing, descending, cornering, bunny-hopping, track-stands, and more!

This in-depth clinic is about 1 hour of field drills and another hour of riding on the trail.

Required:

• Mountain bike in safe riding order (bring your bike into our Service Department for a free assessment if you're unsure)
• Flat mountain bike pedals (no step-ins or toe clips)
• Bicycle helmet
• Closed-toe shoes
• Hydration
• Snacks

Your Instructors:

Rick (he/him) has been mountain biking since before bikes were any good (1989) and working in the bike industry on and off for over 20 years. He is dedicated to sharing his love of cycling with as many folks as possible.

He is a certified Beginning and Intermediate mountain bike instructor from the Bicycle Instructor Certification Program (BICP). He's been working for the Outdoor Gear Exchange for over 10 years and this will be his sixth year as a certified instructor.

Ryan (she/her) is a multi-sport athlete who has been biking since her family first took her up to Acadia’s carriage trails when she was seven. She has been working at the Outdoor Gear Exchange for the last two years and this will be her first year coaching mountain biking. She is a PSIA Level II Alpine ski instructor of six years, and is excited to share her love of biking and bring her ski coaching skills to the roots and rocks!
