Hidden City Sounds Series: Lefty Martin & His Right Hand Band & Free Pre-Show Line Dance Class

Martin John “Lefty Martin” discovered his love for music at a young age, coming home from school to the sounds of his mother playing classic country, B.B. King, The Ink Spots, and even surf rock like Wipeout by The Surfaris. His mother, whose voice resembled the legendary Patsy Cline, could sing a mean version of Crazy, inspiring Lefty’s lifelong passion for music. With the encouragement of family and friends, it was only natural that he would dedicate much of his life to performing.

Though he entered the band scene later in life, Lefty began singing in ensemble groups in 2008 (Rhapsody Singers & Sounds Divine). In 2014, he was the lead singer for the local country cover band Silver Spurs, and in 2017, he joined The Ghostriders after an introduction from Barbara Patterson, manager of Rhapsody Singers. During the pandemic, Lefty took on a new role as the lead singer of a startup band before forming his own project: Lefty Martin & His Right-Hand Band.
