Whitewater Kayak Sprig Tune-Up: Class 2/2+ - Lower Nolichucky

If you're like many of us, we emerge from the cold months feeling a little rusty and it can take a while before we feel like we're returning to good form. It doesn't have to be that way. Kick off the paddling season with a bang with our comprehensive and fun Spring Tune-Up led by NOLI instructor Ryan Shealy on May 10. After a review of fundamentals and strokes to revisit solid technique and loosen those torsos up, we'll spend the majority of the day on the lower Nolichucky River (class 2/2+) working on the river running skills that serve as a paddler's bread and butter.

Have an area giving you trouble or one you'd simply like to address? We'll add that in too and help you finish the day feeling energized and confident as you jump into another fantastic paddling season! And if you've already been paddling through the winter this class is a great way to take your paddling up a notch as well.

For experienced whitewater kayakers with class II/II+ or greater skills. Age 10+. All instructors carry professional certification through the ACA. Cost is $175. For more information and to register go to
