The poker run begins at the boat ramp near the carousel picnic shelter and continues to four checkpoints around the lake before returning back to the boat ramp for your final card. Kayaks and canoes are the only accepted form of water transportation for the event.
A Third Division for those who can't participate on water has been added for hand only.
RULES:
* Prizes will be awarded to the top 3 hands in adult, kids & non paddling division.
* The game will be 5 Card Stud and will adhere to the best 5 card hand turned in.
* Traditional poker hand rankings highest to lowest will be used.
* At the card turn in (BEFORE TURNING IN YOUR CARDS) participants will be able to purchase (1) bonus card for an additional $5 donation, giving the player 6 cards. The best 5 cards will be used.
* Envelopes holding each card will be opened by event staff at turn in. Tampering with sealed envelopes will result in disqualification.
* If you have two identical cards, a new random sealed card will be drawn to replace the duplicate.
* In case of a tie hand for winners, the participants will draw a high card from the deck to determine their new placement.
* Must be present to win
* In case of bad weather during the event, all participants will proceed to the ELC building to finish drawing cards and enjoy the festivities. There will be no rain date.
* Approved life jackets are required.
* For the non-paddling division, there is one division only. Must draw your cards at the carousel at 1:00 PM Right after paddlers are sent off.
Proceeds from the past events have gone towards swim ropes & handicap restroom at the swim beach, portion of picnic tables, two tornado shelters, new playground equipment, computer for the dam, bringing new events such as duck races and trail of lights and we are currently raising funds to repair the carousel that was damaged in the 2022 storms.
