// ABOUT DR KHABBAZ //
Joseph Khabbaz serves as the Vice President for Spiritual Life and Campus Chaplain at Southern Adventist University. In this role, he supports the university’s mission by aiming to transform lives for eternity through a Christ-centered environment anchored in the beliefs of the Seventh-day Adventist Church.
Born and raised in Sydney, Australia, Dr. Khabbaz began his professional journey as a chartered accountant before sensing a clear call to gospel ministry. He pursued theological training at Andrews University and has since been dedicated to discipling young people and equipping them to live missionally in every area of life. His pastoral ministry began in Australia, where he served at the local church, then as Director of Tertiary and Young Adult Ministries for the South Queensland Conference, and was called to serve as Youth and Young Adult Pastor at Sligo Seventh-day Adventist Church in Takoma Park, Maryland. Continuing his commitment to spiritual leadership, Dr. Khabbaz completed his Doctor of Ministry degree from Fuller Theological Seminary in 2025, focusing on how scriptural engagement positively influences the worldview of young adults.
He and his wife Christina met on the campus of Southern and enjoy the ministry of hospitality, playing basketball, traveling, and spending quality time with family and friends.
