Eucalypt Identification Workshop
Eucalypts are an iconic feature of the Australian bushland yet with 1000 species, they can be a mystery to identify. To become intimate with this challenging group, it’s often easier to take a deep dive focusing solely on species local to your area. So, why don't you join us for Paul Gadsby's eucalypt identification workshop.
The workshop is divided into four components:
* presentation of eucalypt ecology, identification features and techniques and tips to aid the identification process
* hands on examination of specimens and seedlings
* field identification
* practice using ‘key eucalypt features form’

Paul Gadsby's bio
Paul is a passionate botanist and educator with over 25 years of experience studying Australia’s native flora. With a strong background in ecological restoration, Paul brings more than 18 years of hands-on expertise in the restoration industry to every project he undertakes.
Currently, Paul teaches conservation and ecosystem management at TAFE, where he shares his deep knowledge of native vegetation with the next generation of land managers and conservationists. He also consults on botanical surveys and biodiversity assessment method assessments, offering detailed and insightful ecological analyses.
Combining his love of botany with education, photography, and fieldwork, Paul is also the author of several upcoming native plant identification books. He regularly runs engaging botany workshops, including sessions focused on eucalypt identification and vegetation community classification.
Whether he’s in the classroom, leading a survey, or exploring the bush on a weekend hike, Paul is driven by a lifelong curiosity and respect for Australia’s unique natural landscapes.
