Got a couple knitting basics down and want to try a wearable? Made a scarf and want to break into knitting in the round? This is the workshop for you!
In this class, you’ll walk away with a CHUNKY BEANIE and new skills to get you off and running on knitting in the round. You’ll learn to cast on with the German Twist and how to join your work in the round without a pesky jog.
We’ll expand past the basic knit and purl stitches with the knit through the back loop (ktbl) and a simple decrease (knit two together). Then we’ll transition to double pointed needles to finish the crown.
You should come to class with a good knowledge of how to knit and purl – you don’t need to be perfect, but consider this KNIT102 rather than KNIT101.
You do NOT need to have any experience working in the round or on double pointed needles – that’s what you’re coming to class for!
All supplies for this class will be included.
I’ll have a couple color options available for you to select from. That being said, if you have a super bulky yarn you’re dying to use, bring it! If you impulse-bought a set of circular needles (size 8 and/or 10, 16”) and just haven’t used them yet, bring them! Would love to help you get familiar with your tools.
Class size is limited, so pre registration is required. Grab a friend or two, share a charcuterie and enjoy some time together knitting a beautiful, cozy beanie!
