Fall Mushroom Appreciation Hike at Skookum Falls

Come Join the Queer Mountaineers for a favorite fall activity, hiking through the woods and staring at mushrooms (AKA Mushroom Appreciation). If mushrooms aren't your jam (please, do not make jam out of any mushrooms you see on this hike) no worries, this hike parallels the relatively flat White River Valley through beautiful old growth forest till reaching the majestic Skookum Falls at around 2.2 miles in. We will plan on meeting at the Skookum Flats North Trailhead (located off of Forest Road 73, immediately after crossing the bridge over the White River) at 9:30 am.

Trail Information: 526 ft. elevation gain, 4.6 miles round trip

Gear Needed: Day pack with 10 essentials, hiking shoes with good traction, snacks, 3L of water, extra layers, rain jacket, sunscreen. Trekking poles are optional, but recommended.
