Forever Farm Tour

Join King Conservation District on a tour of Forever Farm and learn all about how the landowners sustainably steward their horses and the environment. We will take a tour of the farm and learn about the practices and projects that have been implemented on the farm, from optimizing pasture health, and mud management, to a creekside planting project! Hear from the landowner to gain her perspective on the projects she has completed. KCD staff will also share why these practices are so beneficial and what support is avaialble. This tour is a great opportunity for rural residents who have a waterway and/or livestock on their property. Topics will include:

• Farm Conservation Plans and funding opportunities
• The Farmland Preservation Program
• Heavy Use Areas (sacrifice paddocks) to avoid mud in the winter
• Tips on getting the most out of your pastures and avoiding weeds

• Streamside buffers - including what they look like as they mature!

Exact address will be provided upon registration. Please dress to be outdoors, and walking around a farm. Hearty snacks will be provided.
