AUDITIONS: King Lear

Audition Dates: June 30 – July 1, 2025
Performance Dates: September 5–7 & 12–13, 2025
CAST SIZE – Up to 14 Principal characters and 16 Ensemble (some doubling possible)
Men: 2 principal roles (ages 20–60+), additional ensemble roles
Women: 2 principal roles (ages 20–50), additional ensemble roles
Child: 1 role (boy aged 6–10)
Open to all genders, 16+ (children 10+ may audition for select roles)
AUDITION FORMAT:
Prepare a monologue if auditioning for principal roles (Lear, Cordelia, Goneril, Regan, Edmund, Edgar, Gloucester, Kent, and The Fool)
Percussionists and trumpet (cornet or bugle) players encouraged to audition for live musical flourishes and marches
ABOUT THE SHOW:
King Lear is Shakespeare’s powerful tragedy of a king whose decision to divide his kingdom among his daughters leads to betrayal, madness, and a fight for survival. Filled with unforgettable characters and timeless themes of power, loyalty, and family, this production promises emotional depth and dramatic intensity.
