Palisades Paddle on the Hudson

A pre-Mother’s Day paddle up and down the Hudson River - literally. We launch from Englewood Boat Basin (beach at north end) and paddle North to Alpine Marina, enjoying views of the majestic Palisades along the river. After our break we return to the launch, possibly making a stop to check out the Greenbrook Waterfall.
Mileage: 10
Level: Moderate. We treat the Hudson as an open water paddle; paddlers must be comfortable with dynamic conditions from wind and current, plus boat wakes. We will not be making any crossing across the Hudson, just paddling along the shore.
Equipment: Sea/Touring kayak at least 14 ft with fore and aft bulkheads. PFD will be worn when paddling, Marine VHF, Safety equipment and be able to use them. Pack a lunch with lots of hydration. Sunscreen, bug spray and whatever you need for personal comfort. If you take any medication, please bring along.
