Step into a joyful, physical, and imaginative space where text comes alive. The Actor’s Workshop is an ensemble-based experience designed for actors of all ability levels who want to explore language beyond the page and into the body.
Through various physical exercises, students will investigate how movement, rhythm, space, and physical impulse can unlock deeper meaning in text. Rather than “getting it right,” this workshop invites curiosity, risk-taking, and play as tools for discovery. Expect to move, experiment, laugh, and surprise yourself!
Participants are encouraged to bring their own text or monologue. Song lyrics and poetry are absolutely welcome if traditional monologues feel intimidating or inaccessible. A selection of Shakespearean sonnets will also be provided for those who want to explore classical text in a fresh, physical way. No matter the source, the focus is on connection, embodiment, and finding your own expressive voice.
This workshop is open to all actors ages 16+ who are ready to engage their imagination, trust their instincts, and collaborate in a supportive, welcoming environment.
Please wear clothes you feel comfortable to move in.
There will be a half hour lunch break, so bring a snack!
The workshop fee is $50, but we believe access matters. Payment plans and scholarships are available for anyone facing financial barriers. If cost is a concern, please reach out. We’re happy to find a solution together.
