Gender-bending costumes, chaos, and community.
Join us at the end of the road for a night of live music, dancing, tacos, and timeless tradition! The Kingfisher Jumble Dance is a legendary community event with roots going back to the 1950s. Born from the creativity and defiance of women left partner-less while the men drank outside, the Jumble began as a cross-dressing dance party—and the spirit of play and rebellion has lived on for 68 years and counting.
This year’s soundtrack comes courtesy of Joe Abbott and the Flying J’s—a Vancouver-based outfit serving up an eclectic blend of original roots music influenced by honky tonk, swing, and rock & roll. Expect crooning vocals, wailing steel guitar solos, and surprise cameos from clarinet and alto sax. From western swing to psychedelic rock, the Flying J’s bring enough charm and character to delight two-steppers, folkies, and all-season merry makers alike.
Whether you're a dance floor regular, a costume enthusiast, or just love a good sideroad adventure, this is your night. Don your wildest outfit (gender-bending encouraged!) and come be part of something real, weird, and wonderful.
