Ecstatic Dance San Diego returns this Friday, December 5th to Encinitas with opening class - Culture of Contact facilitated by Victori Violet followed by Ecstatic Dance Journey set by DJ gEM
Ecstatic Dance is a community movement, a sacred space for you to explore and tap into your true expression.
Come be held by the dance floor, the music and the community, connect non-verbally with yourself and others and tap into the magic of this liberating movement space.

In this workshop we will discover different nuances, languages, meaning and momentum of contact improv by viewing an ecstatic dance floor as a community conversation.
We will use a trauma-informed/neurodiverse perspective to address:
Tuning in (reading and merging energies with someone in dance form)
How to initiate and end a shared dance (navigating non verbal consent from neurospicy lens)
Lifts and weight sharing (how to support and be supported ((also how to bail safely))
As well as how to navigate polytics (poly-politics) on the dance floor!
Victori guides group movement classes that inspire approaching dance as a shared conversation. Victori has been dancing since birth and facilitating movement containers since 2018, including Tuesday Dance Jam, Ecstatic Dance San Diego, and traveling the country teaching contact classes in DC, Austin, NorCal and SoCal; festivals and Ecstatic Dances alike!

Her unique hippie whomp with an edge is what gives her beats that gEM-y bedazzled magic to shape moments worth moving in.

Ecstatic Dance Guidelines
1. Move however you wish
2. No talking on the dance floor
3. Respect yourself and one another
4. No Shoes, No Booze
5. Please also refrain from photos, videos, strong scents/perfumes, glitter and shoes on the dance floor.
6. Touch is Sacred ~ Many people dance in their own space, and others share their space with another. To engage in a dance with someone, use sensitivity: Are they open to sharing their space with me? Mirror movements, offer a hand, brush by, make eye contact, and see & feel how they respond.
