Color is more than just visual—it’s visceral. It holds memory, emotion, energy, and meaning. In this immersive, hands-on workshop, we’ll dive into the deep, expressive power of color and how it speaks uniquely through each of us.
Color Speaks is designed for artists, creatives, and curious souls who want to explore color as a personal and emotional language. Through guided exercises, open exploration, and intuitive play, you’ll begin to uncover how color can help you say what words can’t.
Whether you’re drawn to moody blues, radiant oranges, or soft, whispering neutrals, your choices hold insight. We’ll examine how different colors resonate within you—what they stir, what they soothe, what they shout or quietly hum. You’ll learn how to listen more closely to your instincts and allow color to lead.
What to expect:
-A welcoming and judgment-free space to paint intuitively
-Explorations into how color affects mood, memory, and emotional expression
-Exercises in translating feelings into color palettes
-A guided warm-up focused on sensory perception and color response
-Time for free painting and intuitive experimentation
-Group reflection and discussion (optional but encouraged!)
You do not need to be a trained artist to join—just bring an openness to the creative process and a willingness to follow where color leads. This workshop is about connection, not perfection.

KAT COLLINS is an acclaimed abstract artist based in Easton, Pennsylvania, known for her vibrant and emotionally charged mixed-media paintings. Graduating with a BFA from Mount Vernon Nazarene University in 2000, she has since cultivated a distinctive style characterized by spontaneous mark-making, layered textures, and a rich palette of colors.
Specializing in mixed media, Kat utilizes a diverse array of materials including ink, collage, graphite, oil pastel, acrylic paint, and charcoal on various surfaces such as canvas, paper, and wood panels. This eclectic approach allows her to explore the depths of human emotion and experience, drawing inspiration primarily from life, music, and poetry. Her works are a powerful emotional landscape to get lost in.
Her work has garnered recognition through exhibitions at esteemed venues such as the Ronald K. De Long Gallery, Connexions Gallery, and David E. Rodale and Rodale Family Galleries in Pennsylvania, as well as Gallery 840, The Boyer Gallery, Midnight Gallery, NoName Gallery, and Sigal Museum. She has also exhibited at galleries in New Jersey and North Carolina. Kat is represented by PXP Contemporary.
Kat's art is a reflection of her deeply subjective and emotional engagement with the world. She continues to captivate audiences with her dynamic and evocative compositions, inviting them on a journey of introspection and discovery.
