The Rockhampton Manufacturing Hub will be hosting a Product Design & Digital Manufacturing (CAD & CAM) Teacher Professional Development Workshop facilitated by STEM Punks.
In today's rapidly evolving world, equipping students with design thinking, digital manufacturing, and electronics skills is crucial. This Professional Development program empowers teachers to integrate these vital skills into their Curriculum through hands-on experience with 3D Design, circuitry, and manufacturing processes

About this event:
This one-day Professional Development program provides a hands-on, immersive learning experience. Through interactive workshops, you will explore Design Thinking principles, master 3D-Design software, and learn to integrate Circuitry into your product creations. The program culminates in collaborative project work, where teachers will apply their new skills to develop curriculum-aligned projects ready for classroom implementation. Support and resources will be provided to ensure ongoing success in classroom delivery.
Key Learning Outcomes:
Apply the Design Thinking Process: Empathise with local and global perspectives and address real-world challenges to design human-centred solutions.
3D Design and Manufacturing: You will develop proficiency in 3D Design software through hands-on activities and project-based learning, including CAD and CAM.
Circuit Design and Application: You will gain a foundational understanding of basic circuitry and electronics through hands-on experimentation. You will build and test simple circuits, learn to integrate electronic components with 3D Designs, and explore the potential for interactive and functional products using Coding.
Session 1: Introcution to Design Thinking (9am-10.30am)
Session 2: Digital Design and Electrical Circuits (11:00am - 12:30pm)
Session 3: Product Design Challenge (1:30 pm - 3pm)
