STEAM Sunday: Math in Nature - Fractals

Join us at Los Luceros Historic Site in Alcalde, New Mexico, for a new STEAM (science, technology, engineering, art, and math) Sunday program Sunday, Aug. 3, 1:30 - 3p.m. This week’s program will investigate fractal patterns found in nature.

Do you know what a fractal is? Would you like to find out? Math is all around us! Fractals exist in nature and can be found everywhere. Participants will explore the site in search of fractal patterns and then create patterns of their own in the classroom.

For children ages 10 and older. Pre-registration is not required. Parents/Guardians are welcome to stay for the class. Site visitation is free to NM residents, $7 per adult for non-residents, and free to children 16 and younger.
