Thursday, September 18th performer – The Fuse
The Fuse are a young R&B-Rock band from the Metcalfe and Greely area with former and current students of St. Mark's High School. They have been playing live for just under a year under a couple different names which allowed them to really hone in on their sound. Think of it as a R&B and rock fusion à la bands like Chicago of the 70's and more recently The Tedeschi Trucks Band. So yes, you heard that right! They have their very own 5 piece horn section in a rock band! Over the past year The Fuse have tried to break the tired mold of the “local rock covers band” by utilising their education in music to write, record, and perform their original compositions. With writing efforts led by the band’s guitarist/producer Eli-George and aided by Adam Murphy and Karlina Boucher, The Fuse hit a perfect 60:40 mix of originals to covers. The Fuse have played at several events and gigs around Ottawa including both this year and last “Rockin’ The Rideau” presented by The Stick 'n' Stones, The Brass Monkey, Granata Music Store's coffee house, the OCSB R&B Band Summit, and many more.
