Ottawa Geoheritage Day

Ottawa's Geoheritage Day is happening this Saturday, September 27, 10:00 am-3:00 pm. This year there are three (3!) in-person hosted sites. Visit https://earthsci.carleton.ca/outreach/explore-geoheritage-day for more information. Scroll down the page for a map that can be expanded with sites posted as flags. Clicking on the flags will pull up directions, information and images for each hosted site.

Pinhey Sand Dunes, Nepean (hosted by the Biodiversity Conservancy International)
Cardinal Creek Karst, Orleans (hosted by the Cardinal Creek Community Association)
Westboro Beach Stromatolites (Al Donaldson and Rob Rainbird will host this new spot)

Of course, you can have fun at your own pace seeing all of the sites around Ottawa on your own or virtually through the Geoheritage Day website https://geoheritageday.carleton.ca/
