Fall is approaching fast and nothing is cozier than a homemade dinner party with friends, gathered around a great big table full of food made with love and soft light emanating from taper candles. 𝗝𝗼𝗶𝗻 𝘂𝘀 𝘁𝗼 𝗺𝗮𝗸𝗲 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗼𝘄𝗻 𝘁𝗮𝗽𝗲𝗿 𝗰𝗮𝗻𝗱𝗹𝗲𝘀 𝘁𝗼 𝗯𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗼 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗻𝗲𝘅𝘁 𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗻𝗲𝗿 𝗽𝗮𝗿𝘁𝘆 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗮𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗻𝗱 𝗼𝗿 𝘁𝗼 𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗹𝗹𝘆 𝘂𝗽 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝘁𝗲 𝗼𝗻 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗵𝗼𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝘄𝗲𝘀𝘀!

This is a 𝗯𝗲𝗴𝗶𝗻𝗻𝗲𝗿 𝗳𝗿𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗱𝗹𝘆 class that is recommended for ages 14 and up; students will be working with hot wax, so some hand agility and awareness is required. Students should come dressed in clothes that might get waxy! We also recommend closed toed shoes and a hairtie for safety reasons. Consider bringing a notebook and writing utensil for note taking, a water bottle to stay hydrated, and a way to transport your candles home (like a plastic grocery bag.)

Students should expect to take home 4-8 candles.

𝗔𝗯𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗶𝗻𝘀𝘁𝗿𝘂𝗰𝘁𝗼𝗿: When not working for the Ely Folk School or Ely Film Festival, 𝗟𝘂𝗰𝘆 𝗦𝗼𝗱𝗲𝗿𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗼𝗺 loves to experiment with scent and with color. This has led to many types and scents of container candles and colors of natural dye! However, she also loves the simplicity and grace of an unscented taper candle. If it's the small touches that makes a house a home, replacing your box store candles with something homemade is a great place to begin.
