Join The ARTS Council of the Southern Finger Lakes (The ARTS Council) and poet, Michael Czarnecki, for a poetry workshop at historic Quarry Farm in Elmira, NY, on Monday, September 15, 2025, from 6-8pm.
☀️ Quarry Farm was the summer retreat for Mark Twain and his family. Some of Twain's most famous works were fully or partially written at Quarry Farm. As part of his daily ritual, Twain would end the day on the veranda overlooking the Chemung River Valley and read what he had written that day to his family.
Poet ✒️ Michael Czarnecki was awarded a two-week fellowship at Quarry Farm and, in collaboration with The ARTS Council, is inviting 15 writers to attend this poetry workshop. Michael will lead us through some exercises to get us thinking about writing inspiration, and then we will have free time to roam the grounds of Quarry Farm to explore and write before we come together on the veranda to end our day, just as Mark Twain did, reading our work together.
‼️This program is free and open to the public, but does require pre-registration. To register, please fill out the form here:
